MHS GIRLS SOCCER IS BACK!! 

Maitland high girls soccer team for the first time in a long time played their very first match against president high school, this marked a great start over for the girls . 

Although soccer is more dominated by males. Maitland High School has given our young teenage girls access to the sport, To be a female in a male dominant sport can be extremely challenging as males are seen to be more superior and hardworking. This might take away confidence from females, leading to gender discrimination etc. Maitland High School encourages our girls to stay Bold, empowered and courageous. Our Girls have played against President High School with the score of 3-3 which was a draw. 

"Believe in yourself as a young woman, because you can do anything you put your mind to" added our girls soccer coach Ms Mtwezi.

  Wakhanya one of Maitland Highschool best soccer player on the team shares his experience on being a soccer player. ‘’  The Feeling of having this huge role is unexplainable as it brings joy, focus and empathy. Being a soccer player comes with wins and losses , so you will have to be strong emotionally to have the ability to handle the worst.   The teams recent match was against President High School with the outcome of 2-1.
